VW To Unveil New Convertible At Frankfurt Show Next Month

Volkswagen said Thursday it will unveil its long-awaited new convertible next month at the Frankfurt car show and have the model in showrooms by early next year.
Unlike the previous VW convertible, which was based on the company's biggest-selling Golf model, the new soft-top will be based on the bigger Passat platform with some shortening.
The Volkswagen marque also has an open version of its New Beetle in its range.
Car magazines reported several months ago that Volkswagen had the convertible under design.
