VW has announced prices for the new Jetta, the Golf with a boot.
Prices start at £14,335 for the 115 bhp Jetta S 1.6 FSI, rising to £18,015 for the Sport 2.0 TDI. Equipment on all models includes alloy wheels, climatic air-conditioning, rain sensors and LED rear lights. Safety features include Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and curtain airbags.
Incidentally, if you were thinking that the name sounds slightly familiar, Jetta was the name used for Golf saloons in the 1970s and 1980s. It then became the Vento and finally the Bora. Now VW has decided to revert to the original name, which has always been used in the USA, the car's biggest market.
