Volkswagen UK Announces New Golf Match

Volkswagen has announced the new Golf Match, a new trim level that Volkswagen says offers better value than the SE model it replaces. Going on sale starting today, the Match offers more equipment and costs £14,995, £380 less than the outgoing SE model.

Beginning the long list of new features are a set of 15" alloy wheels, body coloured side mouldings, bumpers and door handles. Inside, a three-spoke, leather trimmed multifunction steering wheel with radio and computer controls is also now included. An MP3 player or USB music storage can be played through a connector inside the centre arm rest. The value of all this equipment on the SE would have costed an extra £720. Add the £380 price reduction puts you ahead £1,100.

Power comes from a slew of petrol and diesel engines and can be paired with a choice of transmissions from six speed manuals to DSG. The Match, just like the SE will only be available in 5-door configuration. Volkswagen hopes for the Match to account for over a third of Golf sales in the UK.
