With some 3.094 million vehicles delivered to customers, total sales for last year already exceeded

Wolfsburg - After the first eleven months of this year, the Volkswagen brand has sold 11.4 percent more vehicles than during the same period last year. A total of 3.094 million vehicles were delivered to customers from January to November. The brand has therefore already surpassed last year’s total sales of 3.088 million units. Volkswagen recorded 293,000 sales in November, 11.1 percent up on the same month last year.

"Customers all over the world are delighted with the attractive and increasingly individual model range presented by the Volkswagen brand. We have never before sold so many vehicles in the first eleven months of a year. That is very satisfactory and confirms our proactive product policy. We will continue with the systematic implementation of this policy to maintain an equally good presence on the world market in future, too," said Dr. Michael Kern, Member of the Volkswagen brand Board of Management responsible for Sales and Marketing.

As the leading brand, Volkswagen sold 1.504 million vehicles in Europe from January to November, 7.5 percent more than during the same period last year. In November alone, deliveries to customers rose by 9.7 percent to 141,700 units.

628,035 new vehicles were registered in Germany during the first eleven months of the year, an increase of 9.9 percent compared with 2005. There were 70,834 new registrations in November, an impressive rise of 30.3 percent. "This means we again have a monthly result on our domestic market that is well above average. The Volkswagen brand has expanded its commanding market lead even further. That is not only due to the upcoming rise in value added tax. Our models as well as our packages offering mobility, service, insurance and attractive financing are very popular with customers," Kern commented.
