Polo question posed to US dealers

Martin Winterkorn will be meeting with US dealers this week and one question he'll be asking them is: "Do you need a Polo?"

I think this will be a pretty easy question with a pretty easy answer. We're guessing Winterkorn will be getting a resounding "YES, where do we sign up" from dealerships across America. With gas prices going the way they are, people are turning to smaller vehicles to find some sort of relief.

Of course, this was a long time coming. In Canada, Mk. IV Golfs and Jettas have been sold as a competitor to the Yaris, Fit, and Versa after the Mk. V versions were introduced. If the US dealerships votes yes for a Polo in the US, the City Golf and Jetta in Canada may be replaced by the Polo as well.

Update:
A commenter has said that Winterkorn only asked dealers if they wanted a small car below the Jetta, not necessarily a Polo (could be a Polo, Fox, one of the up! variants, or something completely different).
