Volkswagen of America reports March sales results

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced March 2007 sales of 17,355 units. This represents a decrease of 16.3% from March 2006 sales of 20,730 vehicles.
On a 2007 year-to-date basis, Volkswagen has sold 50,332 units. This reflects a decrease of 5.6% from January through March 2006 sales of 53,296 vehicles.
Founded in 1955, Volkswagen of America, Inc. is headquartered in Auburn Hills, Michigan. It is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, headquartered in Wolfsburg, Germany. Volkswagen is one of the world’s largest producers of passenger cars and Europe’s largest automaker.
