Volkswagen of America reports February sales

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced February 2007 sales of 16,367 units, a 0.2 percent increase over the February 2006 total of 16,329 vehicles.

The Jetta, one of three “V-dubs” available under $17,000, continues to be the volume carline with year-to-date (YTD) sales of 14,352, a 1.2 percent increase. The award-winning GTI continues to perform well with YTD sales of 2,450, a 23 percent increase over the previous year. Combined, the New Beetle and New Beetle convertible had a strong February, posting sales of 2,398 units, up 11.8 percent over February 2006. The New Beetle is also available under $17,000.
